Baby Brother Patches

My little brother, Patches, is very sick.
On July 25, we found out he has FIP
(Feline Infectious Peritonitis)
.
He's not quite 5 months old.
Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

I love my little brother, Patches

I didn't like him much at first,
but I love him now,
and I don't want him to die.

Me and Patches

UPDATE: After emergency surgery July 25, and over 24 hrs. of tests July 27 and 28, Patches' doctor called this afternoon, July 31, and the FIP test came back negative. She said that doesn't mean absolutely that he doesn't have FIP, but it is good news. She wants him to come back for a checkup this Friday, August 4, and then have another FIP test next month. If this isn't FIP, it looks like it may have been a very bad reaction the the last set of vaccinations Patches received from his other vet. Thank you so much for your prayers. This has been such a scary week for us all.

UPDATE: Patches August 4 checkup went well. There still doesn't seem to be any positive symptoms of FIP showing up. There is, however, a new cyst forming on his back. Whether this is a symptom of FIP or a reaction to his vaccinations, we don't know yet. He will go back to the vet again in two weeks (and so will I) and we'll keep a close watch on this cyst.

UPDATE: Patches is doing so well, he didn't go for his August 18 check up. I had to go to the vet instead, because I am sick. Patches will go again soon.

UPDATE: Patches was doing so well, he was neutered on August 30. He turned 6 months old on September 1. He will still have another FIP test in a couple more weeks.

UPDATE: Patches had another FIP test, and it was negative again. So it looks like he's ok! I'm well again too. Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers!
